Outfit Ideas: Working at Home to Going Out

Today I am showing some layouts of outfits and how they can be adapted so easily with different elements. I scanned the Anniversary Sale items for things that are still in stock and tried to choose carefully. Keep in mind that between this writing and you reading things sell out. Use my tip in this post about keeping track of Item numbers.

EARLY ACCESS officially starts August 13th for card holders. These layouts are actually formulas and will help you adapt any outfit and component–not only Anniversary Sale items. It just takes a little creativity and thinking outside the box. I promised accessories so I tried to incorporate that category in the layouts and included even more in the widget below. I also hit the home and beauty departments where there are many hidden deals!

The First Layout shows a common “going out” or work look –if your office is casual now or you have casual Friday. If not, you’d probably wear with typical pair of black pants. A great coat always gives a first good impression when you are out and about. I can’t say enough about having coats that fit and represent the image you want to present–yes even for going to work where it will be taken off or when you are out and about running errands!

Next we have the same Halogen sweater and the arrows indicate how I’ve changed to the outfit to make it more casual for working (or sitting!) at home.

–I’ve added more jewelry which is perfect for the Zoom call, or leave it off if this isn’t part of your work day.

–The denim has been switched out for the Spanx black pants (These are really more like a legging so size accordingly — they get rave reviews)

–The bootie has been replaced with a dressier sneaker which honestly you could even wear the with black wool coat to go out!

–I’m a big fan of a handbag in the saddle color because it “warms” up the black. I try to do this with gold jewelry around the face too. That shade of red is pretty universal and adds color around the face instead of all black or gray all the time! (so easy to do right?) The only thing I forgot in this layout was this BAREFOOT DREAMS cardigan to throw on if you get cold!

And last we have a look that can be worn at home (with sneaker adaption above ) worn to work or out to dinner with the heel, (depending on body type & how pant fits you)

You could add denim and the belt for great weekend look. I loved the handbag too by the way. Great contrast with the coat. And just like a good coat, a nice handbag stands out! I kept the color minimal for all of you NEUTRAL lovers and I DO consider Burgundy a neutral!

  1. Be sure and hover over the image in the widget below before you click on it because I often write a caption with a few helpful details.
  2. Next click the image as it takes you right to the site (and see sale price) where you can choose your color/size and put in shopping bag. You can go back and forth between my widget and your shopping bag to make your experience even easier. I appreciate any purchase as it helps offset the cost in keeping my site active/current. Thank you!

Some of us will be doing more things this fall, some of us will still be at home. Wear your clothes and play around with making them causal and adaptable to your current lifestyle. I’m just a Zoom call away if you need help! CONTACT me for a complimentary 15 minute consult!

What did you think? Will this help you think about how to adapt what is hanging in your closet?
