It’s been over four years since I have written a blog post. Part of me didn’t think I’d ever write again. The site remained active, and I paid to keep my domain. Each year when the bill notice came, I contemplated coming back.
Friends said they missed the blog, and asked if I would write again. That was a nice to hear, but I told them no. Working retail made it difficult. But, I’ve learned long ago never to say never! You can read a little more about that journey, and I’ll be sharing bits and pieces of my experiences as we go along.
When I started Style by Karen nearly a decade ago, the goal was always to focus on good information versus pictures of me posing in various outfits. I plan to stay true to that, and hope to provide a good mix because I do LOVE fashion and want to share photos of how to wear it well.
There will be posts on topics where hopefully you will learn something new. There will be other posts with just a picture–perhaps combining old pieces with new. Or I may post a complete outfit with shopping links.
Speaking of old posts. Many of them remain in the archives. It’s humorous to look at how fashion has changed, although it’s not drastic in this time frame. I laughed at pics of me holding a very small cell phone. If you happen to click on some of that old content, you may see distorted photos which occurred when everything updated. Eventually I will go through those old posts.
It’s also really nice to have the advances in technology which will enhance your reading experience.
I started doing videos over on my Facebook page about 6 months ago. I’ve posted a couple of these under Style Tips. The videos were a good test for me to see what readers wanted to hear about. I plan to offer Facebook Live, too.
In 2016 I added skincare/makeup to my expertise. I feel great skin is such an important part of looking and feeling your best. I will definitely be sharing more on that topic as we go along.
