Bargain Shopping at Target

I remember the days when I was at Target EVERY week. The ad would come in the Sunday paper and I’d make my list. I was a faithful Target shopper. I’ve always had a store that was super convenient, yet somehow I got out of my regular Target shopping mode and I’m not really sure why. I see a lot of young moms on social media referring to getting their Target shopping fix. That was definitely me twenty years ago!

It was my older sister who introduced me to Target. I recall visiting her one time in the late 70’s when they lived in Illinois. Growing up in a small town we didn’t have anything like it. In fact we didn’t have many shopping choices. I was 16 and bought some of my school clothes. I was very excited because I wouldn’t have to worry about showing up to school with someone having the same outfit! I was thrilled to shop at “Tar-jay”. I even remember one of the things I bought! Yes, I’ve always loved clothes. My mother and I didn’t always see eye to eye when came to that. I always wanted more and she thought I could get by with much less! I think it taught me to be very creative with what I had.

I’ve always found the occasional piece at Target but I decided to go online and see what I could find. I was looking for a couple of specific colors and this is what I came up with. I ordered and had some shipped which was pretty speedy. I picked up a few items at local stores and that process was seamless and fast. The prices are so good even without a sale. I may get only a couple seasons out of the sweaters but still so worth it! And that denim shirt? I’m on the 3rd year with that. It’s a good one! It sells quickly and hopefully they will restock it.

Jewelry is key to brighten it up a bit as well. The gold hoops are a favorite. I’m wearing these with everything right now!

Sizing:

I would say everything I chose was a little generous except the pullover sweaters I went up a size from what I normally would wear. The Green cardigan I sized down I’m wearing a small. The plaid shirts I could have gone between a Medium or Large. My denim shirt is a large and has plenty of room. It’s 100% cotton and really never shrunk but then again I don’t dry things very long, if at all. Overall I’m pleasantly surprised with what I found at Target.

Over to you. Do you shop at Target on a regular basis? Do you find clothes there? Let me know in the comments what you liked here and if you have come across something at Target worth sharing.
