My Cabi Finds for Spring/Summer

In a post earlier this spring I featured Cabi. I thought it would be great to circle back and show you some of my purchases this season and outfit combinations. The season ends on the 30th, and you can still purchase all through next week.

I have a show twice a year, and this year it was a little later in the season. There are pros and cons to that. Our weather doesn’t really turn warmer until June; many times my purchases would sit until it got nice. This year I tended to like things that I could have worn all of March and April!

I have this free standing mirror in my hall just outside by bedroom. I take a quick picture there in a pinch–often on my way out the door. Today I decided it was time to move the mirror inside my room because the hallway is dark. I have this huge bedroom window so lots of great light. That is rare in bedrooms of many houses I’ve been in. I need to take advantage of it more often.

It’s been unseasonably warm for June, but today was a little cooler. This room gets that afternoon sun but today was overcast and perfect with all that natural light.

This floral “Penelope” top wasn’t necessarily on my radar. You know I like prints, but only want so much floral. When it came and I tried it on, it fit well, was comfortable and a keeper. Some may feel this is reminiscent of their “grandma’s patterns” and I understand that point of view. I think it’s all in what you put with it.

The denim is AG and is not available presently. Let me say, that I’ve always preferred denim with just a touch of deconstruction like on the left leg. I’ve never had a pair with a cut-out knee. It’s a stretch for me, and many would say they are too old for this look or they simply don’t care for it. Certainly a discussion for another time!

The Tanner Trench is the perfect cross between purple and blue. Typically it’s a little too “pastel” for my liking, but putting the Penelope top or the Rose top with it made a big difference. If something has a touch of linen, the wrinkles tend to bother me. For some reason I’m just fine with this.

Rebecca minkoff bag

Recently I did a poll on my Instagram story when I found this Rebecca Minkoff bag at the Nordstrom Rack. There were so many great features to this bag, I decided to keep it.

Next is the Valentina blazer. I’m always a sucker for a good jacket with some structure and this is a good one! Lots of stretch, really nice fit. I LOVED it. Notice instead of a front tuck, I simply pulled the end of the top through the belt loop. It balances the proportion with the shorter jacket. It also helps the top skim over the middle. This is a perfect example of what would be a typical “wear to work” jacket and I have completely dressed it down. You can even wear it with a graphic tee for a totally different look.

I liked this jacket too. See what I mean? I can see it being a really good travel piece. In case I’m freezing, I like a jacket on the plane but one that is comfortable. I tried to show a photo of the zipper in the back which really adds an interesting detail. And, leggings. I know. I’m kinda over that whole look, yet with the little skirt piece attached it made it more appealing. And the white tee? Loved that. It’s thicker, but not too heavy and is the perfect basic.

Here are the links to all four pieces shown above.
