It’s Fall Fashion in July

In addition to the Nordstrom Anniversary sale, Fall Fashion will be arriving for every retailer very soon. It’s always so hard for all of us to embrace the retail cycle especially when we are in the heat of summer!

This coming Saturday, I have the opportunity to attend the local Cabi conference where the fall line will be revealed. I’m excited to see and share that with you sometime next week. Then, the Stella & Dot fall line is out, and it is exceptional! I’m working on a photo session next week to combine some of my Nordstrom purchases with Stella & Dot.

Back to the Nordstrom sale… I have to say, I really enjoyed working it this year in my new role as an independent stylist. Gone are the long days and sore feet!  I loved being able to really focus on clients who like the sale. We worked together either in person or over the phone or Face Time. The Style Board app they gave me is the best!

In my posts, I made an attempt to provide easy convenient shopping links for you. It’s a learning process for me. It will continue to improve as I find the right sources to make it what I want it to be—informative and shop-able

When I started this in 2009, I blogged to provide a continuing source of education for my clients. Once I worked with them in their homes/closets, there was so much more to teach. The blog was the perfect platform. I didn’t worry about having the perfect outfits to show. I often used what I had. I always wanted to focus on teaching about fashion instead of just providing shopping sources for more outfits.

Ten years later, fashion blogs are plentiful. I became even more aware of this when the sale started. I could not believe the amount of hype and press on social media for the Nordstrom Sale! Everyone is an expert. Perhaps I was oblivious in the past because I was working long days and had no time to follow it all. While I will have affiliate links here and there, my focus has not changed, and I want to provide a good balance between education and shopping.

This will be my LAST post about the Nordstrom sale and then I’m moving on! Yes, many things are sold out, and it’s at this point that everyone is scrambling to look for something. But, believe me there is product left.

I’ve updated the SHOP page which is all on shoes and boots. Each is a clickable link taking you right to the Nordstrom site. Each shoe I have seen on and can vouch for. Please let me know if you have questions–the site isn’t always correct. (Don’t size down in the Vince sneaker!)

The AT HOME department has expanded so much in recent years. As you scroll through you will be amazed at all the choices. Here are my top finds. If you haven’t ever tried the sheets and towels, they are just the best. I like the bath sheets as you get that extra size, but all sizes are available in a variety of colors.

HYDROCOTTON BATH SHEET

COTTON SATEEN SHEET SET

KENNEBUNK BLISS THROW  I seem to collect these and every year they are a little more reasonably priced. My husband may scream if I buy another throw, but I love my UGG ones from last year!

VOLUSPA CANDLES  There are three different sets/sizes and I linked the set of five which I think is great to have on hand for gifts. I love these and buy some every year.

STEMLESS WINE GLASSES

SWEATERS

It’s a category I haven’t covered yet and despite warm temperatures throughout the country, try to visualize those cold winter nights. A few of these sweaters are more like tops. I purposely looked for things that were well stocked.

  1. Gibson 39.90// (size down) 2. Halogen// (true to a little large) 3. Vince// (oversized look–runs generous) 4. Trouve// (could size one up for a looser fit) 5. Halogen cashmere// (true) 6. Leith// (a touch generous)

LINGERIE

Wacoal (great sports bra option) Chantelle (my personal favorite) and Natori are the top brands for bras. Fun Fact: For several years, Hanky Panky was the top-selling unit of the entire sale.

The sale goes for a couple weeks yet, and in fact opens to the public (non card holders) tomorrow! Have you shopped the sale, and if so did you have a favorite?
