Yes, I promised Part 2 of MOB/MOG and it will be coming. Stay tuned this week because I’m doing some more research and have a new concept to share.
Here in Portland I am pretty darn excited to see the sun! I thought it would be appropriate to show some spring fashion. It hasn’t been abnormally rainy–we get rain–especially in the spring, but it’s this time of the year that we start to CRAVE sunshine. I am ready to wear spring colors!
First up, COLOR. For most of my adult life, I was not really a fan of this color. I always favored everything on the cool side of the color wheel. It is reminiscent of a yellow highlighter right? Now I refer to it as citron, and I like it. After hours of color analysis training years ago, I learned there is so much warmth in my eyes that I can wear this color. If my hair is warmer in color (and it can vary) even better! I have several tops in this shade, and I always get compliments. This sweater (link in photo) comes in some great colors. It also shows the “wrap” trend we are seeing more of this spring.
I think it’s a great combo with Navy. Right now I feel like the pieces I own in this shade are a little more yellow. I’m also a fan of chartreuse or even a lime green.
Next, white denim! I’ve worn it for years and always love to bring it out this time of year to pop those spring colors. White denim is now trendy all year. There is so much white denim out there, I could do a whole post on that! It’s not always as easy to wear. I like a heavier denim for white and many like to size UP. Here are few of my favorites. You may recall how much I love Liverpool denim and I’ve linked the photo to the source. (Contact me directly for sizing advice)
Jen 7 is an affordable brand and a straight cut is difficult to find and is often more flattering cut on many body types. I have had a J Brand Maria high rise in a dark wash and it was alway a favorite. Although I I haven’t seen this in person, it appears to be a heavier denim. I also liked the leg opening measurement (not too skinny)
Next, spring shoes. The mule is back for sure. This is ZEST ginger from Earth shoes. I own them in the silver which is really pewter. This one has been a little tricker to size–go down. There are dozens of good choices and I’ll be writing about shoes more for sure this spring.
If you’re enjoying warm weather where you are, enjoy! Have fun getting out those spring pieces!
