Dress for the Holidays Part 2

It’s difficult to cover holiday outfits in one post. It’s on to Part 2. Today I created categories in widgets so you can create your own look. While more causal holiday looks seem to be the trend, I did include some dresses below. Jumpsuits are also extremely popular this year and considered just as as formal.

One of my clients contacted me about finding a dress for a holiday wedding that would be pretty formal. She ordered and had them sent to store so we can try and put the entire look together. This is a great option if you don’t want various boxes arriving at your door when you aren’t home (especially this time of year!) I’ve mentioned it before, but I really like the order on line, pick up in store option. They even open the boxes and recycle them for you! (at least at Nordstrom ) I really like how so many store are offering this service.

Let’s start with bottoms. Velvet is still there. Coated denim is everywhere. As I said in my previous post, if you decide to try the cropped flared denim. I  think they look best with a pointed toe shoe or boot with at least a kitten heel.

Tops are shorter as we all know, so trying the full or partial tuck with a higher waisted pant will make it easier. It’s hard I know, but it can be done. If you are self-conscious with tucking make sure to style your look with a longer jacket, vest etc. It will help considerably. Keep the colors dark and choose a wider belt. If you feel more comfortable in longer tops, wear them. I’ll be there with you. I tucked my first top recently and it had been years!

Suede, leather and fur–it’s all there for jackets. Fur rules this year!

Dresses: Jumpsuits

I’ll be adding jewelry and accessories in the Black Friday weekend posts.

Next up… Makeup!
